In late October, Todd Dann arrived at his stand late due to having to re-site his bow earlier in the afternoon. Something he didn’t plan on, but noticed it was needed after throwing a few practice shots. It didn’t help matters that he’d realized he’d left a grunt tube in the truck after getting to his stand and had to make a round trip back to fetch it.
While pouring a thermos cup of coffee, Todd heard the heavy buck approaching. He scrambled for his bow and readied for what would turn out to be a 15-yard shot. The hit was solid and he could see the buck wasn’t going far as he tried to contain his shaking. Collecting his thoughts and realizing practice paid off big time for him on this day, Todd made my way down and retrieved his biggest buck to date. Todd called his good friend and to tell him the great new and ask for help on recovery. He could hardly believe it as he’d only been gone a half-hour!
Nice work Todd!
