Oregon Public Land Elk

Husband and wife team drop trophy bulls within 10 minutes of each other.

While hunting with over-the-counter elk tags during Oregon’s archery only elk season, Ira and Amanda Alexander had a hunt they’ll soon not forget. Each bowhunter dropped beautiful trophy elk within 10 minutes of each other while hunting near a water hole. Amanada’s bull came in first, a 5×5, and she got the job done from 24 yards with her PSE Radial X Weave arrow, Shuttle T Lock broadhead and Mathews Passion bow.

Only 10 minutes later, a nice 6×6 strolled in and Ira was able to punch his tag from 30 yards using a Mathews Dranalin bow with Gold Tip XT Hunter arrows and Shuttle T Lock broadheads.

"It was a dream come true. Two massive bull elk — a 5×5 and 6×6 shot within ten minutes of each other on public land. A husband and a wife’s dream hunt. From the planning, glassing, sitting and shooting, it all came together like a perfect story," shares Amanada.

We couldn’t agree more. Nice work guys!
