Bowhunting Moose: The Yukon Curse
March 27, 2016
Bowhunting moose is seldom easy. Mishaps, errors, mistakes -- call them what you want but the Yukon is an unforgiving place.
Bowhunter Editor Curt Wells is back in the Yukon bowhunting moose once again. But upon arrival, his Yukon moose hunting woes continue as the bush is quiet and bulls are hard to come by. The Yukon is big country and while it boasts a robust population of moose, finding a big bull can be akin to the proverbial needle in a haystack. It's just a really big needle and a really big haystack.
After eight days of hunting hard, Wells finally finds a bull but decides it's just not the caliber of animal he went to the Yukon for. On the 10th day of the hunt, Wells is greeted by a snowfall and a big Yukon bull that's finally willing to come to the calls and closes to within easy bow range.
But will Curt's moose "jinx" be cured? Or will it receive an upgrade? Check out the video to see what happens.
