New for 2021: Hoyt RX-5, RX-5 Ultra, Ventum 30 and Ventum 33

During this video from the Archery Trade Association’s New Product Premiere showcase, Bowhunter TV's Mike Carney visited with Evan Williams, pro staff manager for Hoyt Archery, to find out what’s new from one of bowhunting's longtime industry leaders.

Evans says that working on the legacy of innovation and patented advancement, Hoyt engineers have continued to push forward the history of the modern bow in 2021 with the introduction of four new bows that feature the company’s HBX Binary Cam System, the first such cam in two decades.

First up is Hoyt’s new Carbon RX-5 and Carbon RX-5 Ultra, which combine the new cam and one of two different modules (depending on draw length) to reduce hand shock, bow vibration, noise on the shot, and give the archer a better draw cycle and shot.

Both Carbon bows are lightweight (4.4 pounds for the RX-5 and 4.6 pounds for the RX-5 Ultra), offer a variety of draw length options (from 25 to 32-inches), 80 or 85% let-off, and arrow speeds of 342 (RX-5) and 334 (RX-5 Ultra). MSRP for the bows are $1,699 for the RX-5 and $1,749 for the RX-5 Ultra.

In Hoyt’s new aluminum bow series for 2021, the Utah company is introducing the Ventum 30 and the Ventum 33, which offer many of the same technologies of the carbon bows, albeit in a metal riser form.

The Ventum 30 has a 30” axle to axle measurement, 6.1250” brace height, 80 or 85% let-off, 25-30” draw length options, a weight of 4.6 pounds, and arrow speeds of up to 342 fps, all at an MSRP of $1,199.

The Ventum 33 has a 33 1/8” axle to axle measurement, 6.375” brace height, 80 or 85 percent let-off, 26-31” draw lengths, a weight of 4.7 pounds, and an MSRP of $1,249.

The two bows also introduce a couple of new color options, Hoyt Buckskin 2.0, a slightly darker reintroduction of the previous color, and the new Wilderness olive green powder coat color scheme.

What’s more, Evans told Carney about Hoyt’s new Picatinny Rail System to mount bow sights and other accessories on both the RX-5 and Ventum series, the opportunity for an integrated rest, a lower front stabilizer mounting bracket, an Inline Short Stop 2.25 Front Stabilizer (which is removable at the bowhunter’s option), and a new SL Mounting Block for rear stabilizer mounting options.
