Hunting Mule Deer in Thick Cover

Hunting Mule Deer in Thick Cover

Hunting mule deer in thick cover isn't typically the standard procedure. Mule deer are a plains animal and most hunts include plenty of open-country antics.

But Bowhunter producer Danny Farris and Burt Coyote's Curt Price are on the eastern plains of Colorado where abundant rains have created an abundance of greenery along the creek bottoms and they're faced with the daunting task of hunting mule deer in thick cover.

This is where scouting becomes especially important. Taking positions on high ground, the pair use optics to pinpoint where muley bucks are entering and exiting the cover. They also employ Browning trail cameas to help assist in the efforts.
