10 New Broadheads for 2013

by Bowhunter Online Staff   |  January 10th, 2013 2

With hundreds of bowhunting manufacturers and dealers converging on one location for the Archery Trade Association (ATA) Show in January, you never really know what you’re going to see. Sometimes it’s that drastic change that no one expected, and at other times it’s the slight improvement that makes all the difference.

One of the most unique introductions at the ATA Show this year was the Toxic broadhead from Flying Arrow Archery, while industry champions like Rage improved upon their classic model with the new Hypodermic. With a patent-pending shock collar and two inches of cutting diameter, the Hypodermic made a big splash at the show.

As a part of our exclusive coverage from ATA, Bowhunter brings you 10 new broadheads for 2013.

I picked up a package of these late in 2012. The tuning aspect makes sure all your arrows fly as close to the same as possible. I have used Slick Tricks for the last few years, as in my rig, they fly truer than any other broadhead. However after shooting the innerloc, I find them to be more accurate at distances beyond 35-40 yds than any other fixed blade I have ever shot; including the slick Tricks. I cannot yet comment on the lethal aspects of the blade , but they appear to be more than adequate.

Its incredible to me that every year they try to re invent the wheel. I have been killing big deer for years with slick tricks and a vertical two wheeled bow that weighs a lot more than three pounds and realistically shots a lot slower that three hundred fps. You would spend a lot less money if you just practice to hit the right spot. Just sayin. John Browning designed the Colt 1911 .45 cal and they have tried to outshoot that for a century with little or no success . You guys keep making these guys rich.
