Game Specific Rangefinder Attaches To Your Sight

The Dead-On Range Finder from Nordco, LLC, attaches to your bowsight and works by bracketing the animal you're aiming at between two parallel lines printed on the Dead-On Range Finder. Just peel the backing off the self-adhesive tape and attach it to your sight guard, making sure the widest gap between two of the Dead-On's four fluorescent lines is at the top (lines from top to bottom: Back line, 40 yards, 30 yards, 20 yards). At full draw, line up the top line (Back line) on the animal's back, look to see which distance line (20, 30, 40 yard) the animal's belly is closest to, and that's how far away it is. Available in several game-specific models. Contact: Dead-On Range Finder by Nordco, LLC, P.O. Box 17633, Dept. BHM, Missoula, MT 59808; (406) 544-3076; www.deadonrangefinder.com.

Crimson Talon[TM] Broadhead Helps Arrow Flight

2XJ Enterprises, Inc., unveiled its new Crimson Talon[TM] broadheads at the Archery Trade Association's 2003 Show. The variable degree axial flow airfoil, known as Spin-Tite Airfoil Technology[TM], that is applied to the trailing edge of the blades causes this 6-blade broadhead (three main blades and three small bleeder blades) to spin-stabilize your arrow from the front instead of from the rear (the traditional method with feathers or vanes). The faster the bow, the more spin-stabilization imparted on your arrow shaft. Another feature worth mentioning is the EZ-Flex Blade[TM] design, which allows the blades to flatten upon impact for more pass-throughs and better blood trails. Available in 85, 100, and 125-grain models. Contact: 2XJ Enterprises, Inc., 233 Springfield Dr., Dept. BHM, North East, MD 21901; (410) 620-9611; www.spintite.com.

Northeast[TM] Helps You Sit In Comfort

Being able to sit motionless in your treestand or ground blind for long periods of time only increases your chances for bowhunting success. In order to do this, you need a comfortable seat. The folks at Northeast Products[TM] had comfort in mind when they created the Ultra Deluxe Portable Folding Cushion[TM]. Waterproof and durable, its closed-cell foam cushion (13½" x 14" x 1½" thick) and backside (18" x 14" x ¾" thick) are covered in a quiet camo fabric. Other features include a 60-inch Adjustable Poly Belt with Side-Release Buckle and Detachable Hinge Straps. The Portable Folding Cushion[TM] is available in two models: Original and Easy Carry. It's available in four popular camo patterns. Contact: Northeast Products, P.O. 1648, 5 Franklin St., Dept. BHM, Lawrence, MA 01842; 1-800-262-7328; www.therm-a-seat.com.

Hammerhead Keeps Your Gear Handy

Hammerhead Industries' new Mini Gear Keeper[R] Retractable Lanyard/Tethers are designed to keep hand-held items such as flashlights, small binoculars, or GPS units attached and handy. Available in a number of attachment configurations and weight-ratings, the Mini Gear Keeper[R] is an impact-resistant plastic canister with a spring-loaded, self-retracting nylon-coated stainless steel cable. It attaches to the wearer and features a quick-connect system for easy attachment/detachment of your hand-held equipment. Its self-cleaning design removes grit and debris to prevent jamming. It's available in Medium- and High-Force models, and four different Mounts: snap-clip, pin-mount, Velcro[R] strap, or rotating belt clip. Light Up The Night

Arrow Lites[TM] are reflective wraps designed to help you find your arrow in low-light conditions. Two styles are available - Bands and Stripes. Arrow Lite[TM] Bands cover a broader area and work better when applied below your fletching. However, they are solvent and adhesive stable, so you can use them under your fletching if desired. Arrow Lite[TM] Stripes are considerably thinner than the Bands and can be applied between fletching. Bands and Stripes come in white, red, yellow, blue, green, black, orange, and gold. Magnock[R] Improves Receiver

Magnock[R] made a change to part of its magnetic nocking system. The concept of the Magnock[R] System is still the same, but the receiver is different. It's called the "Pro1" receiver, and it's said to be lighter, smoother, shorter, and easier to install, and with less vibration you get more speed. It's also said to be more forgiving for fall-away rest users. Available in sizes small and large, and six colors: green, blue, black, clear, yellow, and amber. Contact: Aznat, LLC, P.O. Box 31051, Dept. BHM, Phoenix, AZ 85046; 1-800-632-5750; www.magnock.com.

New Gambrel For All Types Of Game

Mark's Universal Gambrel lets you hang, weigh, and clean your harvest with ease. It weighs 10 ounces and has a weight capacity of 850 pounds. Unlike traditional gambrels, which require making an incision in the animal's legs and then inserting hook ends, the Universal Gambrel uses gravity to seize the animal's legs in the loops located on both ends of the galvanized steel spreader bar. To weigh an animal, just insert the front legs into one loop, the rear legs into the other loop, and then attach your scale to the hanger eye and hoist the animal. Available in two sizes: 16 inches for small deer and hogs and 20 inches for large deer, hogs, and bears. Contact: Mark's Universal Gambrel, 3934 Sawyerwood Rd., Dept. BHM, Sarasota, FL 34233; (941) 925-8628; www.marksgambrels.com.
