PSE Video Targets Western Game
Bowhunting the Wild West 3 is the latest western big game bowhunting DVD from PSE. The action starts fast with a New Mexico state record Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep falling to Matt Liljenquist’s well-placed arrow. From there you’ll travel to eastern Colorado with John May for a spot-and-stalk mule deer hunt. Then it’s off to Arizona for bull elk and bison, and northern California for Columbia blacktail deer. If that isn’t enough, Pete Shepley stalks and shoots his biggest wild boar ever. All this plus bears and turkeys. Add ‘em all up and you’ve got nine big game hunts and two turkey hunts in one 85-minute DVD (also available on VHS) that no video library should be without. Steel Force Sinks Its Talon Into Turkeys
The Steel Force Talon Series is a new line of fixed-blade broadheads designed specifically for turkeys and small game. Its ferrule is crafted from aircraft-grade aluminum, and its main blades and bleeder blades are stainless steel. The secret to the Talon’s turkey stopping power lies in the forward-facing teeth of its razor-sharp, .048-inch-thick main blades. The teeth are designed to limit penetration while inflicting major damage to tissue, bones, and feathers. Because of its minimal-penetration design, the manufacturer advises against using this head for big game animals. The Talon is available in 100 and 125-grain models. Spin-Stabilized Fieldpoint Promises Improved Accuracy
According to the folks at 2XJ Enterprises, they incorporated fighterjet technology into their new Spin-Tite Turbine Tip. Reportedly, the tips feature eight individual airfoils that act like a variable degree axial flow turbine and cause the shaft to spin at high speeds. The result is faster, flatter, and more accurate arrow flight that is unaffected even by strong crosswinds. And, the Turbine Tip’s shape is said to make arrow removal from even high-density foam targets easy. The new fieldpoints are available in 100 and 125-grain models and are sold in packs of 12.
