New York, NY (June 28, 2011) – One of the most well-recognized bowhunting programs of today, Bowhunter TV, returns for its seventh season exclusively on Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor TV for the American Sportsman, starting July 1 at 10:00 pm ET. Against the backdrop of crisp videography shot entirely in HD, hosts Mike Carney and Bowhunter Magazine Editor, Curt Wells will take viewers along on bowhunting adventures all across the North American continent and beyond. As always, Bowhunter TV also dishes out lots of insights, tips and techniques in their Tech Talk, Bow Fitness and Dead On segments.
“We are not a celebrity-driven show,” said host Mike Carney. “We’re bowhunters and our goal is to share our bowhunting adventures and to inform and educate our viewers, helping them become the best bowhunter they can be.”
Speaking of adventures, the season starts off with Bowhunter Magazine Editor Curt Wells traveling to British Columbia to hunt with Opatcho Lake Outfitters and proving that Vancouver Island isn’t the only place to find big black bears. Wells loves stalking game and when the quarry is bears, it adds another level of excitement. After several close calls Wells takes a battle-scarred Pope & Young-class bruin.
The second show kicks off with whitetail columnist, C.J. Winand, arranging his military R&R for the South Island of New Zealand. Winand recently spent months enduring the sandblasting heat of Afghanistan. He bowhunts in paradise with Leithen Valley Trophy Hunts for fallow deer and red stags and proves that shooting practice is, indeed, a necessary evil. In the end, Winand arrows two beautiful, exotic animals before heading back to the Middle East.
“No hunting show packs more bowhunting excitement, technology and technique into a half hour than does Bowhunter TV,” said host and editor, Curt Wells. “Getting close to big game animals and making the shot is what we do and we love bringing all the action and insight to our viewers.”
Bowhunter Magazine is the #1 bowhunting magazine in the world and, like Bowhunter TV, the focus is strictly bowhunting — nothing else. Readers will discover the best hunting stories by the finest bowhunting writers and expert columnists who share their experience and skills with those who are striving to become a better, more complete bowhunter.
