TenPoint approached the design of its new-for-2025 TX 28 with a laser focus on accuracy, bringing all the company’s top technologies together to create a high-performance rig that is powerful and precise. The TX 28’s lethality begins with TenPoint’s dual-plate, Twin-Riser Technology working in harmony with the Zero-Trac Barrel and GUIDElock bolt rest. A no-look flip of the AR-style thumb safety and light pressure on the Trigger Tech Trigger sets the machine in motion and sends 410-grain bolts burning down range at an advertised 410 fps.
Double Plated At the heart of TenPoint’s new TX 28 is Twin-Riser Technology (TRT) that employs symmetrical twin aluminum riser plates, top and bottom, that take the place of a traditional, single-piece riser. A reduction in mass weight, significant increase in stiffness and 70 percent reduction in riser flex all result in a more stable platform and better accuracy. The plate structure also “surrounds” the flight deck and protects the bolt. A set of multi-component Pivoting Limb Pockets are attached to the riser and maintains the critical limb-to-riser interface through precision machining and exacting tolerances. The Company’s Limb Dampening Containment (LDC) covers protect the limb ends. TenPoint’s Double Hinge Extreme limbs are split and made from industry-standard Gordon Composites materials.
Trackless Launch TenPoint eliminates the traditional flight rail on the TX 28 with its Zero-Trac Barrel, supporting bolts via the nock in the rear and a pair of spring-loaded ball bearings up front. TenPoint’s Zero-Trac Barrel suspends the bolt between the nock anchor and the GUIDElock bolt rest that supports the bolt with two, spring-loaded ball bearings underneath and holds it in place with an overhead retention brush. This system eliminates the friction and contact typically applied by traditional systems to greatly improve long-range accuracy.
Keep It Glassy The saying “breaks like glass” is often used to describe the clean, crisp feel of TriggerTech’s custom-built, 3-pound trigger. TriggerTech triggers operate without sliding friction, using a patented, free-floating roller between the sear and trigger. Together with patented Zero-Creep Technology, the system is designed to improve accuracy as well as the overall shooter experience. A Dry-Fire-Prohibitor (DFP), ambidextrous AR-style trigger safety and Alpha-Nock HPX “snap-in” grooves all work together to ensure safe operation.

Packed Stock Measuring just 28 inches long and 9.25 inches wide when cocked, TenPoint’s new TX 28 is highly maneuverable and well-suited to saddle or stand hunting. The TX 28 provides excellent control and maneuverability through its injection-molded, two-section stock that features a rubber-padded butt plate and cheek piece, as well as a pistol grip and pass-through foregrip complete with rubber inlays. Large safety wings mounted above the foregrip promote hand safety. TenPoint’s ACUslide Maxx is built into the stock and provides the ultimate in control and safety while cocking and de-cocking. The patented Auto-Brake eliminates the possibility of the crank handle free-wheeling, meaning the user can remove his or her hand, and the handle will stop in place. A Bow Hook is provided at the front of the stock for quick and convenient access when hunting from a stand or blind.
Solid Bridge TenPoint’s machined aluminum ACUlock Scope Bridge is dual mounted, front and back, making it an advertised 25 times stronger than typical scope rails. This opens up the possibility of using heavier, more advanced scopes, while the full-length Picatinny attachment rail allows for a wider range of scope adjustments to achieve perfect eye relief.
At the Range TenPoint’s top-end crossbows are built with undeniable quality and craftsmanship, and our TX 28 test rig was no exception. The TX 28 has a crisp, light trigger, and handling is excellent thanks to its compact footprint. TenPoint’s ACUslide Maxx is a game changer when it comes to cocking and de-cocking, thanks to its total control, ease of use and safety. Loading bolts can be a little tight for those with large hands, but it is manageable. Bolt speeds are fast and in line with advertised speeds. The scope bridge allows for a wide range of scope positioning, which makes for a perfect, customized fit when shouldering the crossbow. The TX 28 proved to be an excellent combination of quality, utility and performance — the total package.
