Nocking Solutions

Damaged nocks can be a big culprit for your arrow missing its mark. They also can be dangerous. To ensure your arrows are ready to hunt, check your nocks regularly for damage and replace them if any are questionable.

Advertised as the world's only drop-away nock, the Accunock features an internal section including tabs that fit inside the slotted nock. First, when the bowstring is released, the energy of the bowstring pushes the inner piece in and forces the tabs to flex into the nock and out of the arrow's path.

Accunock says this increases speed, improves accuracy and reduces string wear. Second, Accunocks provide a secure hold to the bowstring; worrying about the arrow popping off the string will be a thing of the past. Available in two models, one size compatible with standard diameter carbons and the second, Accunock X-Nock, is constructed specifically for small diameter carbons such as Easton's Axis shafts.

The Accunock X-Nock weighed an averaged of 12.4 grains, whereas the beefier regular Accunock came in at an average of 14.8 grains, which was only a couple grains heavier than standard nocks. I tested both styles in the field. Not only did they fit perfectly to the arrow and onto the string, but they grouped wonderfully with the arrow manufacturer's nocks out to 30 yards.

According to my Easton Bow Mapper, I didn't gain any arrow speed. But overall, I really like Accunocks, which are available in five color combinations.
