Simple mounts, plastic construction and short hanks of exposed fiber optics might be OK for some bowhunters, but my preferred sighting systems include complete fiber optic protection, innovative pin adjustment systems, second- and third-axis tuning, big bubble levels and heavy-duty construction. The Axcel Armortech Hunting Sight series includes four models, and even the base model features everything I could ask for.
The differences among the four models comes down to mounting options (standard mount or micro-adjustable dovetail), the choice of a Mathews Harmonic Damper (which is integrated into the mount and helps dampen vibration) and, as an upgrade, the HS (High Speed) pin system, which produces tighter pin gaps. Standard features include Armor Fiber Technology, True Center Vision, adjustable second and third axis and toolless gang elevation/windage adjustments. Offered with 4, 5 or 7 pins, and in .010-, .019-, and .029-inch fiber optic sizes, Armor Fiber Technology ensures no broken fibers -- fiber optics are completely protected and enclosed inside surgical stainless steel tubing.

The aiming points are then fed through a 6061-T6 aluminum pin casing, and the remainder of the fiber is wrapped and protected inside a light-gathering polycarbonate shield with no exposed fibers. Sighting in was extremely fast thanks to toolless adjustment features and the micro-adjustable sight knob. First, loosen each individual pin -- one at a time -- then adjust pins vertically with the smooth action adjustment knob.
The Armortech has one of the best pin-tuning systems I've ever tested. True Center Vision consists of an hourglass shape inside the scope, which provides a circular sight picture even when viewed slightly off center. This accommodates various anchor styles yet provides a distinct circular view highly compatible with peep sights. MSRP: $210-$310
