All-Day Pin Clarity

All-Day Pin Clarity

Featuring unique light transferring technology, Black Gold's Flashpoint PhotoChromatic bow sight offers desirable features that diehard archery hunters have come to expect from sighting systems. The Flashpoint is available in three models--four-, five- and new for '07, seven-pin model, all including Black Gold's narrow throat pins. The narrow throat pins minimize target blackout and helps to provide a clearer sight window and unobstructed view of the intended target.

Now to the cool stuff! PhotoChromatic refers to photochromic, which means capable of changing color on exposure to radiant energy (or light). The plastic shell covering on top of the sight housing is similar to eyeglasses that turn into sunglasses when you go outside. The sighting system senses daylight and automatically regulates pin brightness for a bright, clear aiming point during all hours. During the brightest hours of the day, the Flashpoint's shell turns dark purple blocking UV light. This allows a more defined aiming point while taking advantage of the most light available; however without nasty pin glare sometimes experienced on bright sunny days.

To battle low light shooting dilemmas, the Flashpoint's shell remains clear, allowing the most light possible to hit the fibers. Black Gold states the SkyCoil is 300-percent more efficient at gathering and transferring light to the pins than other wrapped-fiber bow sights. I'm not sure if that's true but this thing is obviously impressive and bright at first sight. Equipped with two hex bolt windage and yardage adjustments, the Flashpoint is easy to tune.
