Practical Practice

The cliché, practice makes perfect, is a myth. It's more accurate to say perfect practice makes perfect. Savvy bowhunters know this, and they make it a goal to practice with perfect form under realistic, in-the-field hunting conditions. Many bowhunters accomplish this by employing multiple archery targets. Collecting targets to meet all shooting needs can be a costly endeavor though. Enter the GlenDel Full Rut target from Field Logic.

I've used a GlenDel Full Rut for a couple of years now, and not only is it a superb 3-D target option, I've also found it to be a practical total target solution. The Full Rut features a super-sized 14x14x14-inch removable vital insert that offers four-sided shooting, with four different offset shooting faces to help minimize target wear. These four target faces make mimicking realistic broadside, quartering and high-angle treestand shots a snap.

Expanding on its practicality, once removed, the Full Rut's oversized insert basically becomes a stand alone Block 4X4 target that's of comparable size to several other broadhead targets on the market. It's not too small to use for backyard broadhead tuning, and not too large to take along to hunting camp with the rest of your gear.

Of course, broadheads and field points alike are easily pulled from the time-tested, open-layered design, but one notable improvement is the Full Rut's new PolyFusion technology. PolyFusion is Field Logic's proprietary new process that essentially fuses the internal target layers to the external encasement foam. This helps minimize foam slivering and dramatically extends the target's expected lifespan. If you're interested in a long-lasting target that meets a wide array of shooting needs, take a good look at the practical GlenDel Full Rut.
