If you've ever used a potpourri pot or one of those plug-in air fresheners, then you know without a doubt that scents disperse more quickly when heated. So, it's actually kind of amazing it took until just recently for heated scent dispensers to hit the hunting market. Code Blue's new Temptation Electronic Scent Warmer is a fist-sized, battery-powered unit with a small reservoir to hold the attractant scent of your choice.
Simply pour some scent into the reservoir, hit the power button and place the Temptation on a deer trail or hang it from a limb near your stand. The Temptation heats the scent inside to a deer's actual body temperature, which helps disperse more scent than traditional wicks. Code Blue also claims the heated scent vapors travel farther and smell fresher -- convincing mature bucks an estrus doe is extremely close and ready to breed.

I used the Temptation on many of my whitetail hunts last fall in conjunction with Code Blue's Standing Estrous -- a peak rut attractant literally collected from a single "standing" doe about to be bred by a buck. I found the lightweight Temptation unit a convenient way to transport doe urine in and out of the field without making a mess or getting the scent all over my hands.
Because the Temptation's reservoir has a gasket-sealed cover, I was able to pour the scent in before heading afield without worrying about a spill inside my pack. When I got to my stands, I simply took the Temptation out, popped the cover off the reservoir, turned the unit on and placed it in a prime shooting position.

Power from four AA batteries was enough to power the unit for about a week of hunts, and the green power indicator light made it easy to tell when a fresh set of batteries was needed. MSRP: $24.99.
