Laser Alignment

One of the first things an archer must accomplish when setting up their bow is to adjust center shot. Ideally, when held out in front at arms length with an arrow nocked, the bowstring should align with the cams and/or idler string tracks, in the center of your rest's prongs or launcher and stacked in line with your nocked arrow. To make center shot alignment simple, help in setting windage on sight pins and check for cam lean, DoubleTake's BowPlane 2 is the perfect tuning tool.

The new BowPlane 2 includes an integrated bow square attachment with scale for precise nock height setup and it operates off four AAA batteries. Combining laser and fiber optic technology, the 12-inch long and easy to use BowPlane 2 nocks to the bowstring and sits on the arrow rest. When turned on, the BowPlane emits a vertical reference line or sheet of laser light, 360 degrees around the inside perimeter of your bow -- up and down the bowstring, along the cams and/or idler wheels, and then dissecting the upper and lower limbs, riser, grip, rest and sight.

The BowPlane 2 sets up instantly: 1) Push the end switch in to activate laser (reference line) and then rotate the BowPlane to adjust the laser so it aligns with the entire length of the bowstring. 2) Adjust the rest left or right until the laser aligns with cams and/or idler wheels. 3) Double check that your bowstring and cams are aligned, lock down your rest and starting sighting in.

Last, use the BowPlane to adjust windage if necessary. After setup, a minor right or left rest adjustment might be needed for pinpoint accuracy and once sighted in -- for right-handed shooters -- sight pins may fall left of the string when viewed straight in front of you. I found the BowPlane extremely efficient, and in less than 15 minutes I was tuned to 20 yards and shooting bull's-eyes.
