Octane Two-Piece Quiver

Let's face it -- quivers don't get a whole lot of love. That's too bad, because using a poorly made quiver is asking for trouble at exactly the wrong time. Whether it's a noisy, vibrating riser connection, grippers that don't hold your arrows securely or a hood that causes mechanical broadheads to open in transit, sooner or later you will regret slapping a second-rate quiver on your first-rate bow.

One of the best options I have found for carrying my arrows afield is Octane's Two-Piece Quiver. Octane accessories, manufactured by BowTech, are innovative products engineered with hunting in mind. Octane's Two-Piece Quiver features a rubberized, magnetic hood insert that uses rare earth magnets to hold broadheads securely and automatically center them in each arrow slot.

I shoot Rage broadheads, and this hood eliminates the annoying, premature blade deployment that can sometimes occur when sliding Rages in or out of conventional inserts. It also helps keep blades sharp because they aren't constantly rubbing against foam. If there is any downside to the magnetic hood, it's the small amount of extra weight.

However, Octane includes a foam insert for those who prefer to use it. The entire quiver weighs 15.2 ounces with the magnetic insert and 10.7 ounces with the foam. Another highlight is hand-operated, quick-detach riser connections with Teflon coating for smoothness and silence. Thanks to a series of adjustment screws, the quiver is also highly adjustable. It can be rotated 360 degrees and moved forward and back up to six inches.

This allows you to set the quiver at the optimal balance point and keep your nocks from protruding below your bow where they can get caked with mud. The gripper design holds arrows securely but allows silent removal, while the mounts place the quiver sections close to the riser for natural balance and enhanced accuracy.
