Nikon has expanded its Field Recon Team line with the addition of the first backpack designed from the ground up specifically for hunting optics.

The Field Recon Team Optics Pack, manufactured by BlackHawk Products Group, is designed exclusively to help organize, protect, and properly transport optics. Offering 1,943 cubic inches of interior space, the pack features multiple compartments specifically engineered to create the ultimate in optics care and accessibility.

The interior of the main compartment features a padded Spotting Scope/Digiscope sleeve that folds out of the way when not in use, a special, water resistant, padded pocket for a small digital camera, and a hydration sleeve that is compatible with BlackHawk's patented hydration system. The top outer compartment features two sleeve pockets and one mesh zippered pocket. The lower outer pocket is padded to protect binoculars while traveling to and from hunting areas or while scaling a hillside and also features two sleeve pockets and a mesh zippered pocket. The sleeve pockets inside the pack are specifically designed to hold a Nikon Lens Cleaning Kit (not included) for proper care and maintenance of optics at all times. Nikon's Lens Cleaner Kit includes a package of convenient pre-moistened Lens Cleaner cloths (3 per package), a bottle of liquid lens cleaner (1 oz.), and a micro-fiber cleaning cloth.

The exterior of the Optics Pack features a stowable waist belt that comes with a detachable padded Rangefinder Pocket for quick and quiet access. The Rangefinder Pocket is designed for relocation to a belt or the outside of the Optics Pack using BlackHawk's patented S.T.R.I.K.E. system. This system allows the hunter to attach hunting-specific pouches and organizers as desired for the ultimate in customization. Special mesh pockets on the outside edges of the pack are designed to hold shooting sticks or a tripod -- quick clip straps hold these items in place. Additionally, special binocular attachments on the padded shoulder straps allow easy use of binoculars while wearing the pack. The shoulder straps feature non-slip HawkTex to keep over-the-shoulder slings in place.

As with all BlackHawk backpacks, the Nikon Field Recon Team Optics Pack features silent, water resistant, brushed tricot fabric, double stitching throughout, and near-silent zippers. The pack also features a molded back panel and an exterior bungee system for extra storage of apparel. The Field Recon Team Optics Pack is available in Mossy Oak Break-Up, Advantage Max-1 HD, or Foliage Green camouflage patterns.

In 2006 Nikon unveiled the Field Recon Team line with the introduction of the Rangefinder Tether, created to help make Nikon's popular Rangefinder easily accessible. Nikon's new Optics Pack offers the same great ease of use.
