Sound And Shock Elimination

Today it is possible to shoot bows that spit arrows out at 300 to 325 fps, but with speed comes a price--more poundage, radically reflexed designs, and light arrows all add up to unwanted vibration and noise. Fortunately, there has been a quantum leap in the never-ending effort to dampen noise and vibration in your bow, making the beasts we shoot today seem tame compared to the bows of just a few years ago.

Shock-deadening systems are definitely hot items today. In 1985, Saunders Archery was at the forefront of this new technology with the introduction of the Torque Tamer. And now with their introduction of the new Shock-Tamer and Pro-Tamer, Saunders has taken this exciting technology a step further.

The Shock-Tamer is a new type of stabilizer and shock-deadening system that traps shock and vibration. The Pro-Tamer is a totally new dynamic stabilizer. This proprietary system has two cylinders on a floating delivery rod. The entire shock mechanism is cushioned with a patented visco-elastic polymer that kills vibration. Both the Shock-Tamer and Pro-Tamer dampening systems are available in Black, Titanium Gray, and Chameleon Camo.

When I shot a test bow with a very light arrow, I got an audible "snap" from the bow. After attaching the Shock-Tamer and Pro-Tamer one at a time, the difference was clearly evident.
