Introducing the 2016 Hoyt Defiant

Introducing the 2016 Hoyt Defiant

Hoyt continues to raise the performance bar with its 2016 Defiant, which features a redesigned riser, new UltraFlex limbs and new DFX Cam.

The new UltraFlex limbs and DFX cam system produce an impressive IBO speed rating of 331 fps while also increasing the axle-to-axle length at full draw by nearly 3.5 inches compared to previous limb/cam configurations. The result is a less severe string angle that makes the 30 ½-inch axle-to-axle Defiant feel and shoot like a 34-inch bow, with an optimal peep sight position and a more relaxed posture at full draw, with reduced facial contact and string pressure.

Editor in Chief Christian Berg got to shoot the Hoyt Defiant at the ATA Show 2016.

Other highlights of the Hoyt Defiant include a new Pro-Lock limb pocket system, Zero Torque Cable Guard, dual cable stops for a solid back wall and a new, optional limb stop for a super solid back wall. The bow also comes with a full complement of noise- and vibration-dampening components that include a StealthShot string dampener, Limb Shox limb dampeners and Shock-Rod Technology.

The Hoyt Defiant has a 7-inch brace height, accommodates draw lengths from 24-30 inches and is available in peak draw weights of 40, 50, 60, 65, 70 or 80 pounds. A Carbon Defiant Turbo, with a 350 fps IBO speed rating, 6-inch brace height and 33-inch axle-to-axle length is also available, as is the Carbon Defiant 34, which has a 325 fps IBO speed rating, 7-inch brace height and 34-inch axle-to-axle length. Available finishes include Realtree Xtra and Max-1, Under Armour Ridge Reaper, BlackOut and a variety of custom options. The Hoyt Defiant MSRP is $999.

The Hoyt Defiant was a popular bow at the ATA Show 2016 shooting lanes.
