New Arrow Rests for 2021

Arrow rests are a dime a dozen. Picking the right one is the foundation to consistent 10-ring accuracy.

New Arrow Rests for 2021

We were all impressed when QAD teamed up with Mathews and Hoyt to design UltraRest Integrates MX, which used a patented integrated dovetail mounting system that mounted directly to the back of the bow riser. Not only has this proven to be a more secure mounting platform, but it also automatically levels itself when mounted. Now, this same technology will be available directly to the consumer, and according to QAD several other bow companies are set to offer the same machined dovetail design on their risers. Apart from the integrated mounting design, the rest itself features precision micro-click windage and elevation adjustments, a lock and load thumb lever, Velocity Drop-Away technology to ensure fletch clearance for today’s ultra-fast bows, and a drop and lock system that eliminates bounce-back.

Ripcord

Ripcord

Delivering the same consistency you have come to expect from Ripcord, the new DriveCage is setting a new standard in full arrow containment. With the all-new RipCage containment system, there’s no need to worry about your arrow slipping out of the rest when stalking close to game. Using the upper or lower limbs to setup, the DriveCage features a precision, ball-bearing drive system coupled with a launcher arm that can be adjusted for precise tuning. Not only does the launcher’s whale-tail design keep the arrow centered, but it also supports it longer through the shot cycle before dropping out of the way. Also, once it drops, Ripcord’s enhanced dampening system ensures the launcher is whisper quiet.

Trophy Taker

Trophy Taker always seems to be leading the way and their latest Xtreme Pro Lock Up is a good start. Available in both a standard or micro-adjustable Click model, they feature a push lever that locks the launcher into place, and once the arrow is released the roller bearings in the launcher arm coupled with rubber cushioning ensures it drops both quickly and quietly as the arrow passes through the containment ring. With no bow press needed to set up, both rests have windage and elevation adjustment capabilities with the Click model allowing micro tunability.

TRUGLO

The new Hyper Strike is just one of the new arrow rests TRUGLO is offering this year. It is a full containment style drop-away rest that features a launcher arm with a click-up mechanism that allows the user to fix the launcher into place before the shot. The launcher’s deep forks allow the shooter to cant the bow if needed without the arrow slipping off the rest. It easily attaches to the down buss cable using the cable clamp, plus with the independent windage and elevation adjustments you can fine-tune the setup.

Vapor Trail

The original Limb Driver was one of the first drop-away rests I ever used when Limb Driven technology first hit the archery world over a decade ago, and VaporTrail is still building on that success with the recently redesigned Gen 7X Arrow Rest. Developed with the same free-floating, adjustable spring tension system of its predecessor, the Gen 7X has a beefier look and feel and features micro windage and elevation adjustments. Its activation cord attaches to the bottom limb while the built-in bubble level aids in easy mounting.

Hamskea

Incorporating time tested designs, technologyies and quality in a rest virtually any bowhunter can afford, Hamskea developed the new Primer. Similar to their popular predecessors, the Primer features a pair of silky-smooth sealed stainless-steel ball bearings with zero tolerance technology to ensure there is no lateral play. Its lightweight aluminum design incorporates quality CNC machined components, and with the cord clamp its cinch to setup. Its cord dampening technology coupled with the Rebound Dampener helps to mitigate shock that is transferred from the limb to the rest while also acting as a shock absorber to eliminate launcher flutter and prevent cord stretch to extend the life of the rest.

Apex Gear

The Surge from Apex Gear features a delayed trigger system that is precisely timed to keep the launcher arm up longer to support the arrow. As the arrow travels, its high-speed actuation system, coupled with precision bearings, kicks into gear, causing the launcher to quickly drop out of the way. The Surge comes with two launchers to accommodate both standard and micro-sized arrows, and also features independent windage/elevation adjustments, a laser-marked full-draw indicator, and a micro-tune cable clamp.

Trophy Ridge

Based on the highly effective brush technology of the original Whisker Biscuit, Trophy Ridge introduces the Whisker Biscuit V-Max. Its unique V-Notch proprietary design naturally centers the arrow using fewer points of contact which eliminates side-to-side arrow movement while reducing vane drag for a cleaner release. Adding to this brush technology is the V-Max’s micro-windage and elevation adjustments, custom ribber arrow guides for quick and silent loading and light but dependable all-aluminum construction.

HHA

Although HHA has dominated the slider sight market for what seems like eons, they have also broken into the rest arena with their total containment, drop-away Virtus Rest. Its patented latch and brake system produces smooth reliability shot-after-shot, and the perfectly positioned thumb lever allows you to cock the launcher up with one hand. Its full draw indicator marks, coupled with the Gator Grip Cord Clamp, ensures a simple setup.
