FeraDyne Outdoors Acquires Scent Crusher

Scent Crusher's famous "Scent Off. Game On." catchphrase is joining FeraDyne's popular family of brands.

FeraDyne Outdoors Acquires Scent Crusher

Scent Crusher, one of the biggest names in bowhunting when it comes to scent elimination, has officially joined the FeraDyne Outdoors family of brands.

If you have been to the Archery Trade show in the early wintertime, you are probably familiar with the bright orange carry bags provided by the Wichita, Kansas-based company, Scent Crusher.

And maybe even the booth-packing daily giveaways, as well as appearances by bowhunting industry individuals and well-known stick-and-string hunters like Brian Butcher, who tagged one of history’s best non-typical bow bucks a few years ago.

This week, the company is gaining attention in the early summer months, not only because of its product line based on NASA research that attacks scent production, but also as news breaks that Wisconsin-based industry giant FeraDyne Outdoors has acquired Scent Crusher in a big industry transaction.

The company’s NASA based technology has allowed Scent Crusher to provide hunters with a full line of products that leverage scientifically-based research to effectively eliminate odors from sweat, soaps, food, perfume and more.

According to a news release, Scent Crusher products eliminate odor by killing the organisms that cause it, leaves no scent, chemical residue or harmful byproducts behind.

Scent Crusher says that ozone, or O3, is the tri-atomic form of oxygen that is a molecule comprised of three oxygen atoms. It rapidly oxidizes organisms it comes into contact with, then converts safely back into oxygen (O2).

Scent Crusher’s ozone generators reportedly produce on-demand O3 that is attracted to various contaminants that cause odors.

The company notes that ozone attacks and kills odors through oxidation, and then safely converts it safely back into standard oxygen, leaving clothing and gear scent-free.

Scent Crusher’s line of products includes an extensive line of ozone generators, storage lockers, bags, totes and more.

The company also has Copper Ion Technology based scent-control soaps, shampoos and sprays as well. The company says that Copper Ion Technology “…uses charged copper ions that work as an oxidation catalyst to rapidly react odor molecules with oxygen from the air to permanently eliminate odors. When paired with ozone, it is nearly impossible to find a more effective scent management system.”

Known as a major player in the scent elimination game for several years now, Scent Crusher is among the category leaders in ozone-activated technology, a means of effectively eliminate odors on a variety of clothing and bowhunting gear.

In making the acquisition, FeraDyne, a multi-brand outdoors industry family of archery, hunting and outdoors gear, adds to its impressive lineup developed over the years.
